First off, if you see the parental warning before the clip starts playing, it only implies that a few f-bombs will be dropped during the song.  Don’t get your knickers in a twist, P!nk drops more F-bombs in the first verse of some of her songs than these guys do on their whole album!  And we love her.

My latest wish for them little ones running around in our house is about relationships that doesn’t work out.  The Script has done an excellent job in portraying those feelings EVERY human have gone through when a relationship goes sour.  Just read the lyrics that they belt out in the chorus:

“First, you think the worst is a broken heart
What’s gonna kill you is the second part
And the third, Is when your world splits down the middle
And fourth, you’re gonna think that you fixed yourself
Fifth, you see them out with someone else
And the sixth, is when you admit you may have fucked up a little”

My wish for you this week, seed of my loins, is that you move beyond the sixth degree.  I wish that you may learn from those mind-numbing, heart-splitting, ulcer-inducing failed relationships you WILL have in your life.  I wish that you may have the strength to understand that one failed relationship opens the door to another potential success.  I wish that the scar you will bear will be your reminder of what to avoid, of which people you are not compatible with.  I wish that the scar will prevent you from making the same mistakes.aWishaWeek

And most of all I wish that you accept responsibility if you screwed up, or as it is so eloquently put in the song.  Relationships are the proverbial tango, it takes two.  If it doesn’t work if reflects on both parties.  Granted, in some cases one party does carry more weight in the reasons-for-fail argument,  but I wish that you will take your time-out, evaluate what went wrong and MOVE ON with the school fees paid.  And I don’t imply obsessing about it either!

Go out, take risks, put your heart on the line, for if you have a chance of finding the love of your life, it will be worth every heartache that hits you on the journey.  Take the bullet, take time to heal but PLEASE get up and walk on, for the reward cannot be accurately explained, and many writers have tried.
