When losing is impossible.

I was attending our annual school gala yesterday where both my kids competed.  I ended up handing over medals to the winners after the event.  The age group ranges from 7-13 years.

We have a 13 year-old girl prodigy  in our school who won every single event of her age group.  While handing over the medals a few youngters hang around looking at the older kids with wide eyed ambition and blatant admiration.  When this girl got her 4th gold medal, a little boy to my right suddenly popped a question:

“Are you only able to win?”

The blushing girl just smiled and stepped down from the podium as gracefully as she could, amidts roaring laughter.  There must be a lesson in there somewhere.
